We are looking for a carer for my mom in law who has Parkinson's. Her condition is under control through medication, and she is mostly able to do things for herself around the house but due to her condition she has stability and strength issues and does fall from time to time and needs someone to assist her around the house, with showering, companionship, run errands for her, take her shopping, to the hairdresser and to the Dr. She is not very motivated to do things around the house and will mainly watch TV. We are hoping that a companion will help her re develop interests she has like reading, painting and pottering in the garden. She is a loner but can also be very hardheaded so the carer needs to not be a push over and must be able to be firm and say no when it's in her best interest and health. She will not always agree with what we believe is in her best interest and will argue and push back, and not always reasonably, so a strong and disciplined personality is a must.
